The subway train pulls up to my stop.
I step in.
Good morning, Beautiful People!
Dressed for work in a sweatshirt, leggings, and sneakers,
I take the conductor’s words to heart.
We pull into Grand Central Station.
Have a safe, beautiful, wonderful, uplifting day!
–an unexpected joy
in my morning routine.
