Tell us about your latest book. What is it about?

This is the story of Carlota, a young Gypsy girl with an indomitable spirit who is forced to learn to live outside of her Clan during Spanish Civil War and World War II. Her free spirit is reflected and defined in the way she lives her life, with only her INTUITION. Carlota does not accept defeat and nothing can stop her while she takes life head on. Carlota’s passage which savours and captivates her femininity is full of passion, sadness, humor, intrigue, evidence, triumph and love. Romance, adventure, intrigue, suspense, as she goes on the Journey.

What inspired you to write this book?

When I learned the frightening and compelling story of how Gypsies (ROM / Rromani,Romani) were being treated–mainly in Europe, just for being born with their beliefs of freedom. My book is for any history of oppressed and discriminated cultures. We must never forget that we are one people. My goal is to give a voice to the millions of Gypsies who died in the concentration camps throughout Spain and Europe.
