EXT. OUTER SPACE – THARS
SUPER : AU RA Binary Star Installation
QUIET. A SUPER EARTH dominates the scenery. A densely clouded planet is orbited by three moons.
THE ADVENTURES OF SKYLAR
AND THE MOON PRISONERS
INT. SKYLAR’S ROOM – DAY
CAMERA PANS over a futuristic, well-kept bedroom with a single wide window with closed blinds. A few orange plants are seen here and there blending in beautifully with the interactive white wall.
SKYLAR BRAUS’ arm is seen rising from a magnetic floating bed.
CAMERA views SKYLAR from behind. His smaller and tilted-back ears are easily noticeable.
He scratches the back of his short black hair, revealing FOUR SMALL SCARS at the back of his neck, turns to his night table and inserts two blue ear buds, and taps each one and…catchy ALIEN MUSIC plays.
As he walks to the window wearing orange boxer shorts. The room detects him and activates, opening the blinds, revealing a breathtaking view of the futuristic and busy city; UXIM CIRCLE. The ALIEN MUSIC blurs away to total silence.
We finally see SKYLAR’S face from outside through the window. Refined features. Flawless brown skin. Intelligent eyes.
SKYLAR puts his hand on the window that scans his hand and projects the weather forecast on the window.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! HAGE BRAUS enter. A well groomed middle-age Caucasian man with upright ears walks in.
Why aren’t you dressed? We can’t be late, Sky. Three folds(minutes)no more.
SKYLAR quickly dresses into his navy blue pants so fast that he stumbles, falling on his bed. His futuristic deep-blue zipped-up shirt matches his pants perfectly.
INT. HALL – MOMENTS LATER
SKLYAR lowers the volume on his ear plug when his pointy ears twitches two times from a SUSPICIOUS NOISE. He takes a look down the stairs then up to a nearby room. He walks into the room.
INT. HAGE’S ROOM
SKYLAR opens the door gently to his father, HAGE talking to a miniaturized PROJECTION of a woman.
ONEST suspects nothing. I’m sending you the location of the first factory now. Once they’re all compromised, they’ll have no choice but to listen to us.
HAGE takes a SMALL TRIANGULAR SHAPED DEVICE and places it next to the Holo-reader.
I’m uploading the codes now.
It’ll only take a fold.
SKYLAR clears his throat. The woman in the projection ends the call. HAGE braces.
I’m ready, father. Did you hear something
Uh, no, I’ll be right out.
Wait for me downstairs.
Don’t forget your bags, please.
SKYLAR’s eye catches something on the bed. A WHITE PISTOL-LIKE OBJECT. HAGE waits for SKLYAR to leave the room.
Don’t forget the invitations.
HAGE hands SKY the invitations.
Here, take them… hey, you want to drive to the party tonight?
Good, get it started then. I’ll be right out.
SKYLAR’s winces with concern. His ears twitch again. Tension rises as SKYLAR tries to focus on the faint sound.
BOOM! THE front door down stairs is breached. A FLOATING BLACK SPHERE SLOWLY ENTERS THE PROPERTY and spews out thick, toxic smoke. TWO ARMORED FIGURES walk in the house approaching with purpose.
INT. HAGE’S ROOM
HAGE rushes to the door and locks it. A reinforced panel slides down! He turns to SKYLAR, looks at him for a few seconds then takes the WHITE PISTOL on the bed.
BANG BANG BANG! The INTRUDERS are behind the door. HAGE GRABS SKYLAR by the shoulders.
Listen to me! You’re going to be alright but
I need you to listen to me carefully.
SKYLAR, being in a state of extreme panic, nods.
Find your way back here.
COME BACK FOR THIS HOLO-READER!
HAGE slides the HOLO-READER under the bed and activates something on the bed itself, shutting the space beneath, concealing the contents within.
HAGE REACHES FOR SKYLAR’S HAND, entrusting him with the small triangular shaped DEVICE.
Hide it, please. Come back home.
Terrified, SKYLAR nods again putting the object in his back pocket.
I’m sorry, son.
(hugs SKLYAR, passionately)
I’m sorry. There is so much needed to tell you.
Don’t let them know what you are.
One of the INTRUDERS violently smashes through the door, followed by the other. HAGE turns around and falls down to his knees.
I surrender! spare my son, please.
He has nothing to do with this.
The INTRUDER glance at SKYLAR. The other one takes aim at HAGE’s chest and head. PEW! PEW! BLACK BLOOD splashes over the walls.
The KILLERS stride toward SKYLAR and inserts a METALLIC COLLAR around his neck peeling him off HAGE’s dead body.
SKYLAR, being forcibly taken by the men, gazes down at his father one last time before noticing an important MARK engraved on his capturer’s armor.
INT. SPACE TRANSPORT SYSTEM
SKYLAR, still wearing his ear plugs, opens his eyes to a turbulent transport system wearing a METAL MOUTH BLOCKER. His hands are magnetically locked to the seat, accompanied with EIGHT MEN wearing green prison suits.
One of them locks eyes with SKYLAR. A younger Caucasian inmate (17) with a LIQUID GRAY CRYSTAL embedded on his forehead, looking worse than SKYLAR feels.
EXT. OUTER SPACE – MOON
An impressive prison facility, aka TESSLER FACILITY, set on a small moon orbits the MOTHER PLANET.
SKYLAR’S SPACE TRANSPORT SYSTEM approaches Tessler’s docking platform landing gracefully unto the lighted patterns.
INT. TESSLER FACILITY – LUNAR OUTPOST
SKYLAR is escorted through the facility halls by an Armed Robotic Officer(ARO). They reach a long line of NEWCOMERS registering into the system. SKYLAR is inserted in the line by the ARO.
Hey! What do you think you’re doing?
Touch him and you get a thousand more sets (days)added to your sentence.
A few GASPS are heard in the background. NEWCOMER ONE doesn’t object. The situation is back to normal.
INT. GENERAL COLLECT
A larger room teeming with HUNDREDS OF INMATES wearing different-colored suits, some are wearing orange, others green, a couple blues here and there.
SKYLAR follows the line, observing this new ecosystem.
In the midst of the chaos and chattering, he stumbles upon ELENA MADHEIN. An impressively tall, young brunette (20) fighting another inmate.
His eyes catches hers as she is about to bust this guy’s face. CONTACT. He finally reaches the end of the line where he’s greeted by ARO 2 standing next to a LIGHTED PILLAR.
SKYLAR turns and extends his left arm into the pillar that then drops a little BLACK BALL on his hand. SKYLAR looks down at it, confused.
ARO 2 (CONT’D)
CELL 3 dot 9 dash 57.
Inmate 3957, keep moving.
SKYLAR looks back at the scene hoping to see ELENA, but his view is blocked by a pale-skinned, crassly inmate. Reluctantly, he keeps moving.
INT. CELL 3.9.57
SKYLAR sits inside his cell room alone, heart-broken and emotionally shattered. BANG BANG BANG! A few inmates walk by his cell banging on the glass door relentlessly, laughing maliciously.
SKYLAR recognizes the last one. The younger inmate from the transport system. SKYLAR gets up and walks to the reinforced glass, looking at the familiar young man walking away.
A CATCHY CHIME catches his attention. He gazes up at HOLOGRAPHIC SCREENS broadcasting inmates fighting one another, aka A DUEL GAME.
INT. TESSLER FACILITY – DUEL GAME
GAMESTERS dueling. One strikes a deadly blow. A few inmate fans are heard cheering. SKLYAR slowly looks around when his eyes miraculously land on a young man already staring at him. Tension rises.
SKYLAR focuses on him as he tries to figure out this guy’s deal. Three consecutive BEEPS coming from behind. He turns around only to see the BLACK BALL levitating in front of him.
SKYLAR carefully makes his way to it.
A faint light is seen growing from the center of black ball and before he knows it, AN IMAGE of an UNKNOWN SYMBOL is projected through his body. He steps away from the projection field. An ALIEN SYMBOL(number).
As SKYLAR reaches for the ball, it changes shape and wraps around his finger like a ring.
He tries to get it out but as soon as he does, it changes back to its original form- The black ball.
SUPER: 554 SETS LATER…
INT. TESSLER FACILITY – CELL 3.9.57
SKYLAR is lying down on his cell bed studying his father’s MYSTERIOUS DEVICE.
Suddenly, ELIAS VAUS, the prisoner with the gray crystal embedded on his forehead, rushes into the room and touches a button on the COMMAND HANDLE causing the massive glass door to close.
SKYLAR quickly gets up from his mattress, hiding the DEVICE in his back pocket.
What do you want?
ELIAS SIGNALS SKYLAR to shut up.
Wait, I remember you. Transport Bay. First day… you called me Acsel scum. I don’t want any trouble.
I have enough trouble as it is.
A couple of inmates are heard passing by the cell.
I saw him going that way,
He’s going to get it now.
I did? Sorry about that,
I’m one of the good ones tho.
Yet, you are here hiding.
What were they calling me back there, huh?
Povvicks? Iegne? What does that mean?
You don’t want to know.
I do. You’re on the inside now.
Might as well talk. If someone comes in,
I’ll just pretend I was sleeping.
Do you want that kind of trouble?
ELIAS realizes the truth SKYLAR pointed out as we can tell by his kooky facial reaction.
If you must know. Rancid pig.
Rancid pig? Well, how can I get back at them?
Give me something.
There’s only two way-
DOOR SLIDES OPEN. ELBER WEBBA, a black young man (25) with a REFINED nose, yellow eyes, super thin eyebrows and silky brown hair, mohawk style enters.
I believe one of you have something
that belongs to another inmate.
He must have whatever you are looking for.
He literally just told me he needed to hide.
I did no such thing.
Well, the way I see it. You have about 30 folds to collect. If you have it with you now, I’ll take it before you leave this room and when we do leave, As Senior Assort I will
have to report you to head guard for uncooperative behavior.
ELBER lifts his finger, interrupting SKYLAR.
Stay out of this young man.
SKYLAR turns to ELIAS waiting for an answer as the silence engulfs the room.
I don’t have it.
I know for a fact that he has it.
ELIAS, right? I’m only going to say this once. Clean slate. Hand it over and let’s forget this ever happen. You don’t want to get on my bad side.
No answer from ELIAS. SKYLAR breaks the silence.
Do the right thing. He seems cool.
Maybe he’s one of the good guys.
I hope I’m not wrong about you.
SKYLAR AND ELBER look at ELIAS.
