I Died Again

I died again today and it felt
So good

I woke up another week with
A migraine

It was a wonder
And My body began to ache

Pieces lay on the quilted floor
Sprayed with a ruby substance.

A ceiling of stars and storms
Shone with flashes of darkness

I crushed my spine with my breast
And prayed for another night.

She laughed in the spheres
And I ached just a little more

Acolytes joined in the feast
And mocked the shriveled carcass.

It was late in this meek eternity
And a voice begged for mercy.

Stab, shock, pound, cut, execute
Put an end to the sadistic tease.

But there they stand hyenas in the light
Grinning ear to ear with mud in their teeth.

Once goddesses of desperate hours
The shell collapsed to show their truths.

I died again and they stepped on the boyish dreams
From their heavy mountains and grandiose beatitudes.
