Tell us about your book.
This book is a collection of eighty-eight healing and empowering messages based on childhood experiences and the ability to see the world through the eyes of a child. It is about healing from the past, embracing all that you are and moving forward with a greater sense of trust, openness, wonder.
What inspired you to write this book?
Early one Sunday morning, my daughter was working on a an art project. She was singing, making up the words as she went along. She caught my attention when she sang the words, “I’m doing what I was born to do.” “What a beautiful song,” I said. “So what were you born to do?” She paused for a moment, then said, “to be a kid.” In a world where we have been conditioned to live up to someone else’s version of success, we often forget that our purpose for being extends beyond our achievements. Our purpose encompasses all that we are, everything we have ever experienced, the wisdom gathered, and everything else that awaits us.
What’s next for you as an author?
My current inspiration came through a series of dreams and synchronistic experiences, a car accident, a beloved teacher now in Spirit, and a young woman who died of an apparent suicide. My intention is for readers to confidently follow their inner urgings, replacing self-doubt with discernment, hopelessness with inspired action, as we learn to accept that life is continually unfolding, no finite destination, just moments to come to know ourselves more, grow in love and compassion and allow for the emergence of something greater.
