She was a Daddy’s girl at least when
she was young. Perhaps not so much
as a teen she was mostly successful hiding
her drinking and drug use. Oldest child named
for a special friend she watched her parents
argue and fight frequently. At last they
split when she was grown and
married with a child of her own.
She and her husband argued and fought
often. What goes around comes
around. She had moved out on her own
at the age of eighteen and her father
wrote her a letter. Admitted he never
should have been a parent and would
choose not to be were the earth to turn
backwards and he begin his life again.
What a thing to say to his girl even
if her departure was an unpleasant one.
Today he and his new loving wife live in
a city quite nearby. They see one another
at Christmas each year at her instigation.
He does not celebrate any milestones
in the lives of her son and daughters- not
awards nor graduations, weddings nor births.
She has always loved her children fiercely
and despised the end of summer and vacations.
She rejoices in each visit with grandchildren.
She and her husband now rarely argue and fight;
if they do it blows over like the tornado flies.
And every birthday she bitterly awaits a
phone call or card to no avail.

The Right Way to Self Publish
by Zorina Exie Frey
“The Right Way to Self Publish is like the GPS. It not only tells you every twist and turn you will encounter on your journey to Self Publication, but it alerts you when you are about to be confronted with them. It even gives you traffic warnings so you know what to avoid.”
~David Kimball – Writer
“I found her book informative and quickly gratifying, with gems of how to’s, along with her no nonsense “of course you can do this” encouragement, and enjoyed her humor. I also especially appreciated the sections that personally spoke of her own ups and downs…I am more ready than ever to take my own leap.”
